Edna Imogene Mills Veale

Edna Veale, 84, died February 12, 2010.  She was born November 27, 1925 in Covington, KY, daughter of Charles & Virginia Mills.  She was one of 4 sisters, Charlene Mills Ficke, Alene Mills and Laverne Mills, all deceased.

Edna married John W. Veale Jr. on November 20, 1954.  They lived in Wilmington and Evansville, IN before settling in Drummond Hill, Newark in 1969.

John Veale died July 20, 1980.

After retiring from her career in Nursing, Edna became involved in community support activities, including grief counseling and Parish Nursing at Newark United Methodist Church.

She will be lovingly remembered by her family for her backyard gardens and iced Christmas cookies.

She is survived by her son Chris Veale, of Newark, his wife, Cathy and 4 grandchildren, Emily, Nathan, Sara & Carly.

She is also survived by her daughter Lori Cherney, of Hockessin, and her husband, Tom.
